Marketing Manager

Position Summary- The Marketing Manager is responsible for implementation of the marketing objectives outlined by corporate goals. Responsible for the general management of both assigned TH Foods brands and the market development of assigned channels. This includes research, product development, market testing, promotional programs (traditional and social media), advertising, sales analysis, packaging development, forecasting, and ultimately, the P&L responsibilities for brands and channels.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:



  • Develop marketing plan for sales execution in existing and new channels

  • Forecast and manage marketing funds within approved budget

  • Work closely with the sales team to develop the following:

    • Sales goals and target customers

    • Effective trade promotions that maximize sales

    • Club team sales and profits including the development of a new item channel strategy and pipeline.

    • New channel development including new items, promotional and advertising plans

    • Communication strategy to sales - Provide communication to field sales regarding pricing changes, promotional programs and changes, etc. Additionally, marketing data as needed should be sent to the field, and existing pieces updated as needed.


  • Perform monthly syndicated data analysis, summarizing top line trends and recommend appropriate trade strategy and to help identify opportunities to profitably grow the business

  • Assist in the identification and development of new products and channels for growth

  • Perform administrative functions for new channel development

  • Work with Cross Functional Teams to identify consumer trends and match with channel opportunities

  • Team Leader for various key strategic initiatives.

  • Manage all aspects relating to assigned product segments. Analyze in-market performance, manage profitability & volume contribution, and make business recommendations in support of volume & financial objectives.

  • Manage projects to deliver desired results on time and on budget.

  • Provide input to marketing and operating planning process in accordance with company objectives.

  • Recommend & manage appropriate market research studies to gain consumer insights.

  • Determine priority and extent of advertising and promotional programs for each product and assist in the development and implementation of such programs.

  • Executes the annual business plan by integrating the efforts of all essential functions across the Company.

  • Maximizes profitability of assigned products by monitoring volume, margins and spending, reporting on progress against planned margin and volume, and making adjustments to the plan as necessary to maximize results.

  • Utilizes all available analytical tools to measure spending effectiveness and gather key learning for continuous improvement.

  • Planning and creative execution of packaging, advertising, consumer promotions, etc. including the supervision of activities of external agencies.

  • Responsible for ongoing strategy, trade forecasting, coordinating consumer promotions and insights research.

  • Supervise package development and monitor inventories

  • Write and update annual marketing plans, and communicate this information to field sales.

  • Develop sales and expense forecasts by brand.

  • Participate in the necessary trade shows and travel as needed.

  • Responsible for promoting food safety and employee safety throughout the organization.


Required Background:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field: MBA strongly preferred.

  • 3-5 years Consumer Packaged Goods sales & marketing experience


Supervisory Responsibilities
While this position has no direct supervisory responsibility, it is a key leadership role on the Marketing team and plays a critical role in the success of the Marketing and Innovation team success by working closely with sales, R&D, purchasing, accounting and production.

Work Environment
Works individually and must be a self-starter able to work with minimal supervision. Good business judgment and flexibility will be required to keep up with constantly changing needs of consumers and customers (both internal and external). This requires some travel (15-20%). Will need excellent administrative and communicative skills to keep projects on track at the office or when traveling. This position requires occasional weekend work and regular workdays in excess of eight hours per day. Occasional lifting, bending, and carrying will be required due to shows and sample transport.


 

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
