Service Technician

Critical Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Receive, schedule, coordinate, evaluate and repair and ship products returned to the service shop for repair.

  • Repair as necessary, and possibly to the component level, a variety of products including those produced past and present

  • Report repair activity to the service database for the purpose of analysing trends involved in both product failure and those related to specific customers

  • Re-pack and process the products for return shipment to customer

  • Evaluate the return of sales credits to determine the feasibility of those products being returned to salvable inventory

  • Monitor failure and make recommendations and initiate corrective actions to the Supply Chain for the purpose of continuous quality improvement

  • Maintain miscellaneous spare parts inventory that is kept on hand in the service shop area. Maintain functional test equipment and coordinate with the maintenance department to ensure test equipment is calibrated and maintained

  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Associate?s Degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or equivalent from two-year college or technical school

  • Experience in an industrial service environment with a focus on electronic sub-assemble and component level troubleshooting experience, a plus

  • Ability to interpret electrical/electronic schematics

  • Thoroughly versed in the use of standard electronic test equipment and hand tools

  • Understanding of general safety precautions

  • Familiar with standard electronic repair practices, including experience in soldering and component parts replacement techniques

  • Familiar with computer based reporting and controlling systems

  • Knowledge of shipping and receiving practices, desirable

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
