Business Office Clerk--Accounts Payable & Administration Generalist:
Celebrating its 80th year, North Suburban Library District (NSLD), consisting of Loves Park, IL and Roscoe, IL Libraries, offers its patrons excellent collections, stimulating programs, generous online offerings, and convenient 24-hour patron pick-up lockers.

NSLD has an immediate opening for a Business Office Clerk, whose duties will include Accounts Payable and a variety of Administration assignments.
We are willing to train the right person, dedicated to maintaining NSLD's high standards of service to patrons and to the organization.
A highly motivated individual will find support and guidance as they expand their skill set into Accounts Payable, Payroll, HR, Month-end Close, and Administrative areas.
Reports to the Business Manager, and also works closely with the Director on special administrative assignments.
Salary:
Starting wage is $17 to $23/HR, depending upon experience.

Education and Skills:
High school diploma or GED required Associates degree is a plus.
Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
Previous accounts payable experience is a plus.
Working knowledge of accounting software is a plus.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
Strong analytical skills and ability to multi-task.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Examples of duties:
Accounts Payable:
Collects and inputs invoices into the accounting system.
Generates checks, direct deposits and online payments to vendors.
Generates AP reports and a review package for the Director.
Communicates with vendors and managers concerning invoices and payments.
Maintains vendor W9 forms and prepares annual 1099 forms.
Payroll:
Maintains employee personnel files and payroll records.
Reviews payroll hours and provides them to the payroll processor.
Reviews preliminary payroll reports and approves the payroll run.
Prepares month-end payroll journal entries.
Cash Receipts:
Collects cash the departments received from patrons and donors.
Prepares bank deposits.
Prepares a summary of receipts for journal entry.
Administration Support:
Prepares correspondence, makes copies, files, and completes other administrative tasks as requested.
Assists the Director and other staff with projects as directed.

Qualification Standards:
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion, tact, and diplomacy.
Ability to use good judgment in making decisions and referring question to appropriate Library staff members.
Demonstrable English reading skills, and ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to work with Director, Business Manager and staff to achieve library goals.
Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently.
Ability to bend, reach, sit, stand, and walk as needed throughout shift.
